An elegant restructure of an ancient convent, this charming hotel is ideally located just a short walk away from St Marks Square, next to the Biennale Gardens and only one water-bus-stop away from Lido.

Surrounded by parks and gardens, Hotel Sant’Elena takes its name from the most peaceful and verdant district in Venice. On the eastern shore of the city, this ex convent maintains its original architecture and the magic of its past, harmoniously combined with all the most modern and technological comforts. The cloister has been transformed into an intimate internal garden for relaxing moments before a dinner in the elegant Valentine’s restaurant.

The hotel is excellently connected with the water transportation to all the most famous attractions. St Marks Square can be reached in 5 minutes by water-bus and in 15 minutes on foot along the suggestive Riva degli Schiavoni. The pier is located 150 metres from the hotel.

the staff was rreally nice and polite, the rooms were clean and tidy

it was too too too far off frm the main attractions and the journey too and fro was very expensive, also the hotel did not serve food after 10 pm and there is nothing on the island to buy food frm... it was very very isolated and very expensive for the place it was at....

comfortable and clean rooms, nice setting

restaurant although was not fully booked did not want to serve food until 9 o'clock pm

Good Restaraunt, Hotel located a short walk or water bus ride from St. Mark's Sq., Shops , Bars Cafe's and Restaraunts all in vicinity of Hotel. Tea and coffee making facilities were available, review said there were none.

The hotel was in a lovely quiet area, away from the hussle and bussle of San Marco. Its a 20min walk into the main square or a 5min boat ride.

Quiet location 2 vaporetto stops from St. Mark's and one to the Lido. Clean & bright rooms lovely courtyard garden and good buffet breakfast.

Although hotel location is not central we prefer a quiet more relaxed area. this hotel fitted our requirements very well as it was in a residential area.

We found the breakfast food very good but the evening meal was disappointing and expensive - dining room was in a marquee area and was very cold with no heating. Venice can be cold and damp in October.
